Phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) is a key enzyme of plant metabolism catalyzing the first reaction in the biosynthesis from L-phenylalanine of a wide variety of natural products based on the phenylpropane skeleton. Arabidopsis has four PALs: AT2G37040 (PAL1), AT3G53260 (PAL2), AT5G04230 (PAL3) and AT3G10340 (PAL4). |

Specificity And Cross Reactions
| PHY2190A | Arabidopsis thaliana, Brassica napus, Brassica rapa, Medicago truncatula, Solanum tuberosum, Vitis vinifera, Gossypium raimondii, Solanum lycopersicum, Nicotiana tabacum, Populus trichocarpa, Cucumis sativus. The sequence of the synthetic peptide used for immunization is 100% (15/15) homologues with the sequence in PAL2 (AT3G53260) and PAL4 (AT3G10340), and 93% homologues with the sequence in PAL3 (AT5G04230). |
